How does your program work?
Basically we work with Credit Union members to help them find and/or finance cars. Our job is to make sure that the pricing you get from the dealers reflect the guidelines set for them by Groovecar. Membership in a Credit Union entitles you to discounts, our services and tips and advice. Groovecar searches through dealer inventories new/used to help you find a car at a great price. Also there is a program for Credit Union members that allow you to finance your car through the credit union financing programs right at the dealership. This allows you to take advantage of the low Credit Union interest rates without having to go back and forth between the dealership and the Credit Union.

How do I know I'm getting the right price/right trade in value?
You can always call our customer service department and one of our customer service representatives can go over it with you step by step.

What dealers do you participate with?
We currently participate with over 300 dealers, almost everywhere from Manhattan to Riverhead.

Can I register for more than one dealer?
Although the pricing will be similar as long as you look at the same vehicle, you may register to as many dealers as you would like to visit. There is no limit.

How can I research pricing for the cars I want?
There is a research portion on our website where you can find invoices and MSRP’s for the car(s ) you are looking for.

What are the available incentives/rebates for my car?
In the Research portion of our website, you will be able to find available incentives/rebates for the car (s) you are looking for.

Can I build my car on your website? Is it the same as building out cars on other sites?
You are able to build out any vehicle in the “My Garage” section of our website. It has similar functionality to other sites, but pricing may be different dependent upon which resources you use.

Is your program the same as Costco or Triple A?
Our program is not the same as Triple A or Costco. There are many differences. To find out please contact us or read the “How does Your Program Work?” question, also in the FAQ section.

How much will my monthly payments be?
Your exact monthly payments will be calculated once you have an approved application and have decided on a vehicle. You can get an idea of this information under the Research portion of our website and click on “financing calculators.”

Am i supposed to ask for the Groovecar contact or are they specific people?
All of our participating locations have very specific people to ask for. Since we only have one to three trained representatives per dealership, it is extremely important you ask for them by name. If you are unsure who they are, please contact us or visit our website for a complete dealer list with assigned representatives.

What should I say when I get to the dealer?
Please ask for the trained representative by name and tell them that you are registered with Groovecar. Also name the Credit Union that you are affiliated with.

What are the benefits through your program?
Benefits through our program include discounted pricing on most vehicles, credit union financing at most Groovecar participating dealers, a new and preowned dealer list with over 300 participants from Manhattan to Riverhead, specially trained representatives that are mostly managers, customer service department to answer your questions and a free member’s club card.

What happens if I don't go to a groovecar dealer?
Non-Groovecar participating dealers cannot help finance you through your credit union, you will most likely have to negotiate your deal, you may deal with salespeople among other differences.

What does "no-haggle" mean?
“No-Haggle” means no negotiating is involved.

Can I get approved before I go to the dealer?
You may get what is called a pre-approval. This means you are already approved for a loan before visiting a dealer. Check with your specific credit union, because pre-approvals usually have a time limit.

Can I still use your program if I have bad credit?
If you have bad credit, you may put in what is called a Subprime request. This lets the dealers know that you may be credit challenged. We will still help you out to the best of our ability.

Do I have to finance with the credit union?
You do not have to finance through the credit union in order to use our program.

Can you help if I'm only looking for a specific car?
Yes, we can still help if you are only looking for a specific car.

Do you help with used and certified pre-owned cars?
Yes, we have a preowned section on our website that gives you access to these two types of vehicles.

There are a few tips that may help you get a better deal. All of this information is listed on our young drivers page. This link is located under the “additional resources” portion of our website.

What are the best selling cars out there? (Not sure about this question)
There are best selling cars for every class, type, price range and year that is out there. You may ask your trained representative at the dealer for some answers on this subject.

I’m not sure what car I want yet, what should I do?
As long as you have an idea of what make or type of car you are interested in, you can get registered. If you are not quite ready to start visiting dealers yet, you may contact us for tips or advice.
