Hyundai expands its 2011 Tucson lineup with an all-new entry-level GL model.
The 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL is available is only available in front-wheel-drive. In addition, the 2011 GLS trim level receives upgraded model content and a premium suspension is now standard on the Limited model. The Tucson Limited now features premium Sachs Amplitude Selective Dampers that give a smoother ride while still offer excellent handling.
The entry-level 2011 Tucson GL is equipped with a high output 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 165 horsepower and 146 lb.-ft. of torque. GL is available with a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic. Tucson GLS and Limited feature the 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 176 horsepower and 168 lb.-ft. of torque.
The Tucson combines dynamic, sculpted, performance-oriented styling with thoughtful everyday utility to create a vehicle that will change the way consumers, especially younger car buyers, think about compact crossovers.
The profile of Tucson features a sports car-like theme with a double-zigzag treatment for the wheel arches that wrap around the available Euroflange 18-inch alloy wheels. The concave sills have a wedge-shaped profile that extends rearward and wraps around into the rear bumper, a first of its kind design in a vehicle of this type. The profile is further enhanced by modern silver roof rails.
