The 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet features a classic fabric soft top, with year-round comfort, thanks to a number of innovative features.
AIRCAP consists of a wind deflector with a mesh screen and a second deflector between the rear seats. AIRCAP quiets the interior, making it easier to communicate among all four occupants. In comparison to many other air management devices, AIRCAP doesn't require any installation or removal, and doesn't take up valuable room in the trunk or the rear seats.
A cozy companion to the new AIRCAP system, AIRSCARF is a neck-level heating system that acts like an invisible scarf. Integrated into the front seat backs of the new 2011 Cabriolet, AIRSCARF provides warm air through outlets in the head restraints, warming occupants' neck and head.
The E350 Cabriolet uses a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that produces 268 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. The E550 Cabriolet model is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 delivering 382 horsepower and 391 lb.-ft. of torque.
For better fuel mileage, both the V-6 and V-8 powerplants use new systems that minimize engine power needed to drive the alternator, power steering pump and electric fuel pump, plus intake tumble flaps and state-of-the-art engine management.
The overall body shape of the 2011 E-Class features taut lines that define large concave and convex surfaces. In particular, a graceful line follows each rear wheel well and shapes the muscular contours of the rear fenders.
