Chevrolet claims Volt owners have driven more than 650 million EV miles, saving 34 million gallons of gas -- and they drive all-electric more than 80 percent of the time.
New for 2018: Exterior colors of Green Mist Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic and Cajun Red Tintcoat. The vinyl steering wheel and shift knob cover on LT model. Five-passenger seating with available rear heated seats.
The Comfort Package is standard on Premier and available on LT. It includes heated, leather-trimmed front seats, leather-wrapped and heated steering wheels, leather-wrapped shift knob and heated outside, body-color mirrors. Heated rear outboard seats are standard on Premier.
The Volt electric car with extended range offers a sleek, sporty design. With its efficient propulsion system, the Volt offers 53 miles of EV range and 420 miles total driving range.
The Chevrolet Volt's technology and range advancements are complemented by a design blending sculpted, muscular proportions with aerodynamic efficiency, and an all-new interior with seating for five and improved functionality.
The Voltec extended range electric vehicle propulsion system is the power behind the increased all-electric driving range, greater efficiency, and stronger acceleration.
The battery technology uses an 18.4 kWh battery system featuring cell chemistry developed in conjunction with LG Chem. While overall system storage capacity has increased, the number of cells have decreased from 288 to 192 as the result of a revised chemistry from the earlier generation Volt. The cells are positioned lower in the pack for an improved (lower) center of gravity and the overall mass of the pack is 21 pounds lighter.
The Volt also has a muscular design incorporating Chevrolet performance vehicle DNA-inspired cues refined in the wind tunnel.
